Hello all.......... I love eickhorn knives and own KM2000 with N695 steel. I have also seen many knives from Eickhorn like Paracommando, KM4000, Aviator 1,2,3, SEK M which have great design and utility. SO I want to know that they use 55Si7 steel in sawblades in knives like KM4000, why not N695 steel? Also they use 440A in aviator, why not N695? Moreover in knives having wire cutter features like Paracommando, KCB77, KM4000 they use softer 55Si7? How good is 55Si7 compared to N695 and other steels eickhorn use?

To make knives for average army grunts who really don't know to take care of their knives? Save costs?
Maybe you should ask Eickhorn themselves?
