G'day people. How are we all? Question, has anyone had any of the Eickhorn made combat knives ( ACK, KM2000 etc etc ) that they can give me some feedback on regarding performance etc? Also, what happened to their website?

Thanks.

Eickhorns are overpriced crap with awkward designs and mediocre steel - and they've been out of business for a few months or so.

personnaly, I own severals differents military blades, and the KM2000 is one of my favorites. I've used and abused it for some months now in hard conditions and it stand the wear as good maybee better than others of my high priced knives. I got it from a friend for test and found it uggly so I tough:"let's see what it can stand". Now I love it. The sheath of the KM2000 is the best sheath I've ever found on a knife, practically speaking.

Yep, Eickhorn's design is not the best design in the world, but honestly, I've never hear anybody telling me a glock or a Volvo were nice, but hell they work fine! For me Eickhorn make knives like Glock make guns, uggly but strong, functionals and reliable. The KM2000 is a tool, not a fancy knife. They're quiet expensive for a 440A steel blade, but so are TOPS too for their 1095 steel blades and I can tell you that those km 2000 440 blade can be made razor sharp... For me there is no question I trust in their products and will do as long as they will produce blade that serve me well. ;)

Totally agree....I sharpened KM2000 on a high grit stone keeping the angle same and it got crazy sharp...it took some efforts....only thing is that sheath is a bit tight to put in and pull the knife out.
