A friend of mine is interested in a bayonet from Eickhorn-Solingen, http://www.eickhorn-solingen.com/ . I just wanted to get some opinions from anyone who has used their knives before. I know that for the price it won't be as good as a Busse or a Chris Reeve, but if the performance is similar to a Ka-Bar or Camillus I'm sure he'll be happy. TIA everyone.

Hi Roadrunner!

I haven´t used an Eickhorn-knife yet, but I know that this firm produces for about 130 years military knifes. That means real work-horses (better battle-horses), not these look-alikes for saturday-night or sunday-morning warriors.

Eickhorn produces for example the famous german parachute-knife and the austrian Glock-bayonette. Moreover, they make even the bayonette for Colt´s AR 15.

All this wisdom I learned form an article in a special edition about military knifes of the german weapon magazine "Visier".

Keep sharp!

Claus
