I had Dale Sandburg put one of his handels on a windlass Prussian cutlass (Rev war era)...came out nice-just got a good dig camera so I thought I'd share some pics :D

Two close-up's of the handel,I carry it all the time in the woods so it looks "used"

You carry that in the woods with you ? That looks mean enough to take on anything but a grizzly .

That goes on the left hip..on the right I carry my Glock 21 .45 auto...my main thing is the gun is a mechanical device,it can run out of ammo or break at the worst times-swords don't do that! ;)

Specifically their Khukuris? I've been flirting around with giving them a try. They always seem to have a wating list though.

Here is where I step in it . I like shooting a Glock nine mil especially the longer barrel . I guess its the extra weight .
What about the 45 ? From what I know Glocks are light weight . Does that become an issue in a larger caliber ?

First "large bore" handgun I ever shot was a Colt something or other 1911 .45,the Glock kicks much less-one reason I've heard for this is the plastic frame "flexes" in recoil so it's all bonus.

Of course I shoot a blackhawk .44 mag (the gun I carried before I got the Glock) one handed with 270gr. bullets! so I might take recoil a bit differently then you.

Kevin,
I have owned several of the Glocks and the only thing WRONG with them, is that they are Glocks!!!..lol

j/k

Glocks just recoil differently than other weapons do...The Glock 19 and 23 are my favorite compacts and a reworked Glock 20 (grrhatedsellingthisone!) was my favorite of the large frames

Felt recoil from my model 20 felt LESS than from my buddies Colt 10mm...He felt that it was the other way around

see what I mean?:D

While I do prefer my wheelguns and my gov't 1911's, if I WEERE gonna carry a Glock into the woods, it would prolly be a 6" barrel Glock model 20 10mm...Loaded with 180grn double tap ammo with a spare mag to go with it would feel confidant in my weapons ability to handle most anything

Very kewl sword...Gotta get me one someday so when I have my "Zatoichi" jones going on, I can venture into the woods and smite some evildoers!!

Smatchette?? What is that?? Sounds familiar and I am very drugged right now!!

I have one of their khukuris.

It's a decent chopper, comes with a great edge and the tempering is really good. In my opinion the steel needs to be thicker to really work right though.

Now my smatchet from them is like 3" wide at the widest point so it chops a bit better even though it's a shorter blade.
