A month ago as we pulled into our driveway returning from dinner at a friends house our neighbor came over carrying our small black cat. She had been shot through the shoulder. There was a large entrance and exit wound that was made by at least a .38.
I am not big on cats but she is the best one we have ever had. I would have considered having her put down but she belongs to my five year old daughter. We took her to the vet and he kept her over the weekend and removed her leg on Monday.
The vet told us he knew about all the foster and adopted children in our home and that he was going to give us a break on our bill.
It is truly amazing how she has recovered. About a week ago my wife heard a strange noise at the kitchen door. When she opened the door the cat presented her with a mouse. I was if she was letting us know she can still hunt.

I would beat to death, whoever shot your cat. I HATE people who abuse animals...Especially cats.

Sounds like the cat isn't doing bad, bringing gifts to show her gratitude. :)

With ya there my friend, 100%...

I would really like to meet that person all alone somewhere far away and have the Chance to spend some quality alone time. :D

I was ready to go hunting for the #%$& that shot our cat. My darling wife calmed me down. We live in a peaceful neighborhood with about 25 young children in a two block area. I called the police and they asked me to come down and fill out a report. I knew they would not come out. I suspect it was some renters one street over. This cat is very friendly and can be picked up by anyone.
There is never an excuse for cruelty.

Glad to hear it's doing well. I'm not much of a cat person, but I can appreciate an animal making a comeback:thumbup:

I've had nothing but cool cats, all pretty laid back, like me.

Sorry to hear of your cats pain but I am glad she is better now ,In my younger days I once pulled a gun on some punks that were chasing my moms cat with a pipe intending on killing or maiming it, we had words ....The cops came later ....If it was dark out the punks would have had more problems than fear...People are all bastards to some extent but cats and dogs and most other animals are just in it to live..
