Down and dirty: these babies are pick of the litter - perfect in every way. I have five, and they're $95.00 each - postage paid.

They are smoooth, flawless, and are the largest khukuri you would want to handle with one hand. Weight is 2lbs. Thicknes is 1/2 inch at thickest point.

These were shipped in the last consignment, but I didn't order them (I'm happy with the 18 inch Panawal, and don't want to offer too many "regular inventory" items). As such, these are special order items and will, in the future, be made to order. Email if interested. Paypal is preferred method of payment, with check as alternate method.

One gone.

PS: I can't believe these things aren't flying away at the rapid rate. I guess everybody's all 18 inch AK'd out!

Maybe you should post a thread on some of the other forums . Most people see these knives as a curiosity , nothing more . If you spread the word , they just might listen ?

Edd: I would do that, but I don't like dropping in and being "commercial" on other people's forum. Yeah, I offer you guys special deals because you like khukuris, and it's often the fastest way to communicate, but I probably won't do commercial posts in other forums. If I'm missing something here, somebody please correct me.

Craig,

That AK is BEAUTIFUL. I would love one but am waiting with bated breath for the 19th Century to come in

Roger that guys. And besides, if you already have an 18 inch Panawal (or a HI AK 18 incher), this is pretty much the same thing.

BTW: Another 18 incher gone. I think I have two left, not including SFFs "SFF" marked one.

I once had an 18" AK from HI and it weighed 2.75lbs. That was just too heavy for me to handle with one hand comfortably. At 2lbs, this knife would seem to be closer in handling characteristics to my WWII model.
Although I have never weighed it.

I too have an HI 18 inch AK (sent by TB), and it's definitely a bit heavy for one-handed use (well, maybe Cliff Stamp sized people don't have problems swinging it

, but men of my height . . . a different story).

Actually, the lighter AK IS a nice khukuri to swing. Sure, it's heavy, but as FNG (or someone) said, it's the largest khukuri one would want to use with one hand. Our 20 inchers are just too big for one-handed use.

That's a fantastic finish on that AK, Craig. If the rest of the batch is like that, I know you must be pleased. It seems as if your visit to the shops in person is really paying off!

X-Head. Yes, I think it did. This last batch of khukuris is by far the best we've seen. The puja goat must have tasted really good!

And for those of you who don't know, we're now paying a couple dollars more for our khukuris. But the money doesn't go to Lalit and TB. Here's how it works: TB, as you may know, pays by the khukuri, not by the hour. However, to keep quality high, he won't buy a piece unless it passes his personal inspection (it's on the video). So bishwakarmas know not to bring him trash. Well, now guess what? The bishwakarmas know that if a khukuri they make is selected for export to us, they get paid extra for their work.

Craig,
That is one pretty blade! I agree with your comment on the heft of a 20 inch AK with one exception. For wood splitting (let gravity do its thing...) a one-handed grip works just fine. And, as an added bonus, you get a REAL upper body workout. For anything other than straight up and down swings, however, I definitely agree that 18" is about the limit for "comfortable" usage of an AK. Now a Sirupati, ...
