Either Flash1 or Twitch2?

I've been playing with my twitch 2 for about a month now.I like it's slim profile. It fits nicely in the pocket.the hard-anodized aluminum and stainless steel construction are a plus. It's a very stylish knife IMO.I hav'nt had any problems with it at all.I've seen the flash at the SOG website.I believe it's a tad thicker in the mid-section and has zytel scales and it looks a bit utilitarian in the style department.I would be happy to receive either one as a Christmas gift! Happy Holidays,Shawn B.

I have a Twitch II and a Flash II with Zytel handle and am satisfied with both. The Flash with aluminum handles is more expensive, but looks really nice.

If you are choosing between the Flash I with aluminum handles and the Twitch II, I think the recipient will be happy with either. I haven't handled a Flash I, but the index finger "flipper" on the Twitch II makes handling this small knife very easy.

My impression is that the Twitch I, Twitch II, and Twitch XL were all designed to be a small knife, whereas the Flash I seems like a miniaturized larger knife. Even so, the Flash I with aluminum handles is a very cool looking knife and one that I’d be happy to have.

All I can tell you with certainty is that I have a Twitch II and I use it a lot. For a small knife it has quite a bit of cutting length as none of the blade is wasted. The flipper works well to protect your fingers from slipping and the A/O mechanism has worked well so far.

You may already know, but I noticed that my post may create some confusion. All the Twitch knives have aluminum handles. The Flash can be had with Aluminum or Zytel handles.

I got the Twitch II at Lowes for $42.95, iirc. I know it was less than $45.00.

Got a twitch I and I love it. Have read less than favourable reviews about the Flashes.

The twitch is apparently more rigid, rugged, and well put together, whereas the Flash models seem a little 'lighter weight' and less reliable.

To be completely honest, I owned both and didn't really like the flash. It was not real rugged and felt unreliable.

The twitch is a nice little knife.

I just went to Sportsmans Warehouse and looked at both knives and the twitch 2 was a lot sturdier, but they did have the Flash 2 on sale for $35 for anyone looking.

Twitch II is nice, kind of classy I think.

Flash I is too small for me.

I have carried a Flash II off and on for over three years, nice knife and plenty tough IMO.

The twitch series seem like gentleman's (or woman's) pocketknives to me, while the flashes look more like work knives. I'd get your giftee something they're most likely to use in that respect.
