Ek 2017?

Is there anything coming down the pipe on EK? I know they’ve been kind of quiet about when they are going to release things, but did anyone see anything at SHOT.

That latest boot knife offering doesn’t impress me much, I think they could be going more along the lines of the Spartan Dagger or cord wrapped handles, etc
 
It's been quite for so long I think the pipes must be plugged up 😳
 
Kabar has a policy of NOT "leaking" hints about upcoming products, unlike some companies at the other end of the spectrum, who announce stuff only to never produce it.

IIRC, the last time Kabar announced something "early", they ran into a sheath issue, which delayed actual release of the product and they caught grief over it by impatient individuals who managed to make a mountain out of a molehill.

So, no, nothing "coming down the pipe" was announced as SHOT, nor will such an announcement be made at BLADE.

You are correct, sir. When we made the change in how we released new products one of the biggest factors was allowing folks to buy the knife when they see it. We felt "teasing" new items only to have them unexpectedly delayed or never made at all would only create backlash and rightfully so. There are many extenuating factors that play a role in how and when new items are released and many of these stay behind the scenes. We understand it can be frustrating and at times seem like there is never going to be a new product released when there is a lull, but there are always new items around the corner.
 
Or how about an Ek chopper like the original in WW2? One can only hope. :D
