I recently found two EK Bowies at a great price at a pawn shop. Both were new in original boxes with papers. They both have a manufacture date of 09/07 and have"Richmond" on the blade but no serial numbers. Are these hard to come by? I know K-Bar is making them now. Are they of a different quality. They seem like nice knives?

Ive never seen any for sale anywhere. Got pics?

If they are Richmond, the they are from the company before it was sold to Kabar.

EK was located in Richmond Va. from 1982 until 1993 when Blackjack bought them and moved production to Effingham Il. until 1997, when Blackjack went bankrupt.
Ka-Bar took over around 2014. Hope this helps.
P.S.- Now I could use some help on a EK #5 Bowie. Traditional 1941 Korea/WWII/Nam cross blade logo on blade, with 12 of 25 stamped on other side of blade. Has Black Micarta grips, brass grip screws, and OD nylon case with Richmond Va. tag sewn on back. Any info on the 12 of 25 stamping on blade would be a great help.
Thank You.....RLH

I have one of the EK bowies (walnut handles) which I purchased new in the early 90's at a gun show. So, I assume it was made in Richmond VA. It was to be my "survival knife". I chuckle about that now, but they are nice knives.

Aded: Just noticed this is a year old thread and restarted for additional info by RLH.

Thank you rimfire for the reply. Am really trying to find out what the 12 of 25 might be about. This is not a commemorative knife. Maybe stamped for 25 employee's or something like that..??? Anyone with any info would be of great help.
Thanks to all.
RLH
