Could someone help me with some information?
I have an Ek knife ,Bowie type blade, paracord handle, all black and completely sterile except for a small patch on the back of the sheath which says"Handmade by Ek Knives,Effingham,Illinois".Anyone Know anything about it because I've never seen one like it.

I am fairly sure the knife you have is an EK made after the company was sold to Blackjack knives by Gary Ek. This would have been in the mid 80's. The Effingham marking is indicative of a Blackjack made Ek. Blackjack is now also out of business and most blackjack knives seem to be fairly hot as a collectable and most of the patterns are selling in the $100 to $200 range. Hope this helps.

I agree, sounds like a Blackjack Ek. Here is a link to a website that has pictures of the last Blackjack catalog and it has the Ek Bowie, though not your black blade model.

Also, Ek is still in business. You can write to the address below for a free copy of their latest catalog.
