In the latest issue of TK, Mr. Robert Campbell reviewed a couple of EK Commando knives.

Did a "SEARCH"...came up with zip.

I would like to know where to purchase these.

I liked the one with the Micarta handle.
I have had a cord-wrapped model for a few years.

Any ideas?

Ek was bought up by Blackjack back in the mid-nineties IIRC. A short while later BJ went belly up and took the companies it bought up with it.
Good news is Blackjack is back and maybe better than ever(sitting with crossed fingers and thinking "hopefully"!) If you go to the Blackjack forum over at Knifeforums.com you may find some answers there. This question has come up there.
As to availability, the "For Sale" forums may be your best hope of finding one. Or maybe this answer too awaits at that other forum.

Rotsa Ruck GI!:D

They turn up in the For Sale forums from time to time, but it seems to me that I can't go to a gunshow without seeing at least one NIB specimen for sale somewhere in there.

I always prefered the cord wrapped myself, the micarta and hardwood grips always felt "funny" to me. Personal taste thing I guess.

I found them at www.ekknifeco.com, they don't sell knives on the web site, you have to call them and order what you want.
Micarta grips $169
Paracord $139
I am going to get the micarta gripped one.

I can't get that link to work on my puter!
Ek hasn't gone the way of the T-Rex?!
OUT-FREAKIN-STANDING!!
Can you post the phone number, please?

There you go, I hope it helps you, I had trouble with that web site a few times also. Just keep trying and it should pop up. I know that the phone # is good, I called them the other day.

They used to (and may still) have a museum downtown with various pieces displayed from every war in the 20th century, along with all kinds of stuff. I plan on checking them out again next weekend when a fellow forumite's gonna be in town... I'll report back with the what's what.

Professor.
