EK knives

After hearing some conflicting reports about EK knives, I wanted to ask what you all think about the currently made knives by EK. Supposedly, they are of better make than in years past, or so I've been told, but I wanted to ask what you all think about both the knives and the company (specifically customer service). Anyway, thank you in advance for whatever information you may provide.

I have CT, FL. VA and IL (blackjack era) EK's.

I was excited when I heard that Mr. Burlein rescued the name and would begin making the knives in VA again... so I bought the FS dagger with walnut checkered grips. I was not that impressed by the product - there is an air gap between the guard and the grips, the grips are not sharply or evenly checked like my old EK with the "gunner" grips from Herett's (I wonder if the new ones are from Herett's) , and the blade is not the even, high polish of my circa 1985 Richmond Ek's. Definitely better than the BJ Ek's though... and the order was processed promptly.

Wow, that is an impressive collection of daggers. Are either of those Case daggers originals perchance?

unfortunately no, the V-42's are repro's made by Case a few years back...
