EK Model 4 fasteners

Does anybody know what type of screw driver can be used to unscrew the fastener on the Model 4?
They don't look like any type of fasteners I have come across, have no idea which side of the fastener is the one to unscrew.

Have tried both but doesn't seem to be able to move the screw one bit

Good chance that the screws are locked in place. If so likely an adhesive is used. Not really intended to be easily removed as that equals easily lost.

Heat it up in some boiling water? There might be/probably is some loctite on them so they won't budge unless coaxed.

212℉ may not be hot enough to release many adhesives.
