I think that the OP was referring to the old EK fighting knives. I have a couple, and they are pretty good blades.
 
Mine is from the Effingham, Illinois era. Nice-looking blade, but not something I'd ever actually need to use.

Read the history here. http://www.ekknife.com/history.html I've always admired these knives and wanted to have one ever since I saw a friends while in the Marines. His was one of the Blackjack made ones from Illinois. It looks like the Richmond VA ones are even better quality and nicer looking.
