I have been looking at these lately. They have Sandvic blades which is good steel. Anyone have em? Any user info is appreciated. Thanks!

I have one. I love the blade shape and grind. The handle is pretty fat and fills the hand nicely. It is hollow plastic which seems a bit cheap though. I read a complaint that the handle can fill with water in wet environments. The fat handle also means it will take up a bit more pocket space. They are very inexpensive so it's pretty hard for me to be displeased with it. They are only $12 at Ragweed. Give it a try.

I had one and ended giving it away. It's a neat little knife, with a very functional blade that has plenty of sweep. Not too fond of the handle, as it's a little on the small and fat side. The hollow handle keeps the weight down, but seems like it would easily get grit and grime stuck in it. Really like the 12c27 though.

I had an EKA big swede, and it had the hollow handle. I ended up using the plastic handles for a pattern, and made some nice walnut ones. Not a lot of trouble due to the screw take down of the knife for cleaning. The compact shoiuld be constructed the same way.

I gifted it to a family member who to this day edc's it, and claims it's his favorite knife. EKA makes a great quality knife for a small sum. It may be the Opinel of Scandinavia.

If you want something with a similar blade and nicer handle try this. It is an EKA Executive Sportsman. It is a small lockback with a wood handle. It is a bit more expensive at $40+. The blade is excellent and the handle is very comfortable. My only complaint is that the plastic lanyard ring looks out of place on a wood handled knife.

Got a blue plastic one from Ragnar. If you want it, give me a shout and I'll drop it in the mail on Tues. I have 6 other EKAs and plenty other knives in general.
