I have a couple of EKA fishing knives I got from Lanmia out of Finland a couple of years ago and was thinking about getting some additional knives from them. When I Googled them, I didn't see much except apparently a new headquarters in Florida and a fixed blade knife made in the USA.

Did EKA go bankrupt and have their brand name go to an entity in Florida?

Looks like it's the other way around....

Swedish based EKA® Knivar AB has announced plans to expand its global footprint and brand exposure by establishing an office and distribution center in the South Florida (Miami – Fort Lauderdale –Palm Beach) area. This new operation will allow EKA® to better service, support and supply the North and South American markets.

Looks as they moved production to USA
but some Swedish made models are still available
Depends of what do you need ?

My searches with the normal EU sources I use don't have any of their knives. The only ones I found were all made in the USA. Hopefully, their EU-made knives will return to the market soon. The ones I found that were USA-made all seemed similar to normal "field" knives like we see from the common sources.
