I just got my knives back from EKI. I know that everyone is probably tired of reading about customer service posts but I feel obliged to tell my story because EKI has done such a great job of taking care of me as a customer. What follows is an account of righteous customer service unlike any I have experienced in the industry.
The entire process starting from shipping three knives out to EKI to the return of the knives took only nine working days and just two in weeks total.
The three knives were in various conditions ranging from nothing really wrong (unless your a freak like me
) to downright beat-up. Here's the deal:
1. The first is a custom folder which needed a tiny bit of adjustment on the lock-up. Easily done and its perfect now.
2. A Commander which was suffering from locking slippage and needed a new set of handle screws. The liner was adjusted and the blade's locking ramp was touched up. Additionally, new scales were placed on the knife along with new screws and a new pocket clip. Wow! Oh yeah, the edge is now hair shaving sharp.
3. A '99 production CQC-7 with serrations. This is the first Emerson that I ever bought. I have abused this knife with everything from regular salt water immersion to scraping and prying. The entire edge forward of the serrations was as dull as a butter knife, literally! Plus the screws were pretty worn out as well.
The knife also came back hair shaving sharp and all the hardware was replaced.
Also, all the knives had this minty smell to them. Its kinda like knife deoderant.
I don't know what it is but I like it!
Thanks to everyone at EKI for being dedicated to the customer long after the sale. It is greatly appreciated.
