Where is the best/cheapest place to buy a karambit trainer? Willing to ship international would be nice too...

They have a pretty nice price on emerson site, but is there any cheaper?

The trainers are not really worth having IMO, I had one for a while but never used it much.
I always just used one of my fixed blade trainers for sparing and used the sharp EKI kerambit for solo and deploy drills.

If you really must have one Im pretty sure iv seen them on e-bay.

If you need a Karambit trainer, use a horse-shoe. :)

Actually, a friend of mine made a kerambit from an old horse shoe.
Not sure if she still has it but it was ok for a quickly bashed out knife

Lycosa, LMAO to that... but who knows Haze might provide us some nice ideas!! any pics of that Haze?

I've thought about using a regular cheap fixed trainer, or even just taping the sharp one, but the deploy and balance of the fixed trainer is hard/impossible to match and in the trainings I wanted to drop it and abuse from it, and using a EKI trainer seemed cheap and safer than a live blade EKI karambit.

The main concern is obviously the price :D

But they seems somewhat hard to find in ebay, the karambit trainer specially, and the cheapest I've found was in emerson website...

Il ask my friend if she still has that knife, it was straightned out a bit,
curled over at one end for the finger ring and hammered flat at the other to form the blade.
It was pretty cool, im not sure how good the steel in horse shoes is though .

If you want a trainer for sparing I would reccomend a fixed blade of some sort for sure.
You can buy Aluminium trainers fairly cheep or if you can make your own thats even better.
I would also reccomend making your own as the blade will fit you perfectly and you can learn allot about a knife by making one ;)

The EKI trainers are just a "gimmick" IMO, there is really no need for one.
If your doing solo or deploy drills you want to use a sharp blade any way as it helps you gain respect
and stops you picking up bad habbits that are always a problem when using trainers that dont bite.

Ill see if I can dig up a few pics of the kerambits iv made so you can get a
few ideas for when you make your own :D:thumbup:

Haze, if you got some pics that would help.
I'll probably make one if I get some free time and nice ideas! :D

I wanted the trainer for use with a partner and with a fake man stand (don't know how you guys call it)... just wanted to make sure I wouldn't ruin the fake man.

I know what you mean with bad habbits with the trainers... If they cut you will pay attention :D

Here is a couple of pics of the Kerambits iv made.

I have done a few others but those pics must be on my computer back in Scotland as i just cant find them on this computer

This is my Aluminium trainer, I always intended to make a better one out of steel but I just never got round to it.
I can never decide if i like the handle wraped or not but its served me very well and taken one hell of a beating over the years.
