Eklipse Construction Question

I just finished disassembling one of my 3.5" xm18's & decided that I would also disassemble my Eklipse to view the construction differences between the two knives. I started to play with the re-assembly of the knives where I took the pins (?) & stand-offs from the xm-18 & reassembled them onto the Eklipse. Everything fit together perfectly & finished by tightening down the original 3.5" xm-18 screws & followed the centering procedure. To somewhat my surprise, the Eklipse functioned perfectly & flips just as well as it had before. The blade is perfectly centered & with enough clearance on both sides.

So my question is this - Why has the Eklipse been constructed with all new stand-offs & different screws on both the Ti lockside & the G10 side? Is there any downside to using standard 3.5" xm-18 parts in the Eklipse?

Interesting! I don't have an answer to your questions but I am somewhat surprised that the hardware is easily swap-able.

I have to admit that reassembly of the Eklipse is much easier with the double screws (no more pins falling out as you try to hold the whole assembly together), there is no 'special' procedure for centering the blade - it seems to automatically center itself, & I think the new stand-offs may be cut deeper in the middle so the blade doesn't come close to contacting them in the closed position.

I think I may have answered my own questions!

Well I actually tried that myself and if I remember correctly, the blade was in fact touching the XM-18 standoffs (which is why I figured they cut those differently). I also figured they threaded both sides because of the new ZT collab as well. I could be wrong though!

One big downside:
"So if you have drilled any holes, interchanged parts between knives, installed parts that did not come from our shop including scales, screws, washers, etc, altered the knife with a file, sandpaper, dremel tool, or had the blade reground then your warranty is void. Our Warranty does not cover damage to your folding knife caused by batoning. We also do not cover lost parts like, screws, clips, Lock Bar Stabilizers, etc under warranty. If we determine that there is a defect in the materials or workmanship, we will repair, or replace the product at our discretion."
