Bought an electricians knife today at an antique store.

Tang stamps on blade are <- 1958
1B/8011

Other side: J. H. Thompson
Cutlery L Can't read the L symbol, but maybe ltd?
Sheffield
England

I bought it because it is very well made, has half stops (Which I like), a funky brass liner lock type stop for the screwdriver/knife blade. Very strong Walk and Talk, the screwdriver blade is a nailbuster!

Is 1958 the year it was made?

The knife blade sharpened very well.

Any info you can provide would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Add: I found another J H Thompson pocketknife on E-Bay. The Company appears to have made pocketknifes for the military, and the little arrow like symbol apparently represents a military issued knife. The 1958 does represent the date it was made. I cannot find any eivdence that the company is still in existence today.

Does the present day Camillus Electrician knife have half stops also?

Thank you for your help.
