Any good ideas for a new electric knife sharpness? I don't have patients for hand sharpening. Had a Darex work sharp along time ago. Works Great on pm2 and miliarys.

You could try the Worksharp, which is a mini guided belt sharpener. Watch out for the tip, though. And you might struggle with more wear resistant super steels.

The worksharp is the only one that I'm personally aware of that's worth considering, and I only use mine on cheap beater knives. My better knives get sharpened free hand. Another option would be to buy a small bench type belt grinder to use for sharpening. Good luck. Hope you find something that suits your needs.

I own a Ken Onion work sharp grinder that I mostly use for thinning edges down. It works but you have to be careful.
I also have an electric knife sharpener that I occasionally use for kitchen knives if I am feeling lazy. But normally, I free hand those.

If you don't want to drop a lot of money on a 2x72 get an inexpensive 1x30 (lay it on its back so the belt is moving away from you) and some AO belts along with a leather strop belt. You'll be surprised how quick you can pick up on free hand sharpening on a small belt grinder at a low cost.Sharpening Service 005.jpg
