I just bought one from Wal-Mart and boy it went back the next day. What a big peace of crap and that is my clean why of saying what I think of it. Does any one know of a brand that is a good one?? I want to just sharpen my knifes and not do it for money. My price is $100.00 max after that it does not worth it. The reason I want an electric one is because I have a bunch of knifes and I don’t want to spend the rest of my life sharpening them.

Work Sharp. It can be ordered for $69.99 plus shipping on the net.
ETA- check out the threads on it on the maintenance, tinkering and embellishment group here on BF.

A cheap belt grinder. :D
I use the harbor freight 1x30 with great success.

I bought a used 1x42 Dayton on Craig's list for $80. I have done some regreasing of the bearings, and rewired the motor, and put a switch on it, and it is working great. The leather belt strop is awesome. I have it loaded with diamond spray. I use 800 grit, then 600 grit then the belt. A little hassle changing the belts, but I only use the top guard piece so it will not slap me in the head if it breaks, so I can sharpen a dull knife, even D2 steel in under 5 min. total if I go slow. I mean sharpen too. I can get the blade to remove large swaths of hair from my arm with one easy pass. I had to stop testing and just believe, I am hairless with razor rash up to my elbows. It hurts worse in dry air. Get a Harbor freight one for $50.00 Use it for a year, and then buy a better one. One day, I may get a Kalamazoo 2" wide.

An electric sharpener + your knives = many ruined knives. Go with either a belt sander like above or get a Sharpmaker or similar "V" shape sharpener.

Spend some time to get all your knives sharp and then just keep touching them up from time to time. If you don't let them get dull, you'll never need to sharpen that many knives again.
