Electric Sharpeners?

I'm looking for an electric sharpener so that I can sharpen many kitchen knifes. I found this sharpener at Canadian Tire (for those living in the frigid country):

I was wondering if anyone here has ever used such a device and if they have anything to say about it. Would you suggest the use of a regular bench grinder instead of this knife sharpener? If you recommend a bench grinder, what type of wheels should I get (grit).

how many knives do you have to sharpen? i myself dont like any electric sharpener since most dont sharpen back to the grind start. if you want something to sharpen with thats electric, go check out this thread. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=578787 this setup will let you sharpen a knife in about a minute. here is how sharp i get the knives i make with this system http://knifetests.com/kII.html

I put my knife in an electric sharpener and it really messed up the edge. It took my Gerber STL 2.0 and almost gave it a partial recurve...If you have a lot to sharpen you should send it to a pro sharpener
