Over the years I have worn out several Camillus Electrician's knives. Always the blades would accumulate some rust. About 2 or 3 years ago, I bought a new Electrician's model. Despite almost daily use, the blade has remained shiny as new. Nothing on the blade says anything about stainless steel. Did/does Camillius make any of these models with stainless blades?

I think the Camillus model is some sort of 440, I remember that they are made to Gov. Specs. so it has to be on the right chart to be used.

I have owned several of these type of knives. Only one had a carbon steel blade, all of the others were stainless steel.

All the ones that I saw issued in the Army had stainless steel blades.

Yep, there are various electricians knives that Camillus makes, they use both stainless steel and hi carbon.

In case you're interested, Klein also makes a folding electrician's knife with a liner lock. Mine sits in the car console, after several years it's showing some slight pitting, I don't know if it's supposed to be stainless or not.
