Gday guys,

Just finished developing an Elektro etching system
It will run from standard DC power and will do both in steady and pulsed DC (for etching) and AC (for marking)

Here is the test board for it

here is the test result

I am thinking of making this a production run in the near future.
It will me much cheaper than similarly capable machine in the market.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice brother, electro etching has been on mind the past couple of days

How's about we get a circuit diagram? :D

Sure, it wont work without the firmware tho  :D

Tee hee, I didn't realize that there was anything more to it than electronic guts up til you posted that. Now I see you display screen with you name and such on it.

I'm pretty good with circuit boards and a soldering iron but I'm not a computer programming king of guy xP

Please be aware that if you should decide to productize your project and sell it here at bf.c (an excellent market for such a product), you will need to purchase a paid Craftsman membership.

Right now, if you are just showing a one-off that you made for your own personal use, then you are fine at your current membership level.

As to the device itself, the results you have achieved seem much cleaner than what I usually associate with electro etching. Your algorithm must bring a higher degree of control to the process.

LOL, not likely trying to sell things here, at least not yet.
If I do I know the rules.. no worries, I wont be spamming either.. feel free to remove my posts if I breach the rules.

Before designing the system, I made a study of what is available in the market and what they could do.
I guess in term of control and alogarithm, my $200 - $500 machine would be comparable to commercial units that costs over $1000
The market is small so the business types are putting in a very large mark up.

Please send me a PM. I am very interested if you turn this into a production run. My etch o matic just died and I would love to find something a whole lot better.
Thanks
Steve
