Has anyone ever used an etching machine to do damascus etching. I have an old lectroetch machine and was thinking about sticking one wire into the electrolite, and then attaching the other wire to the blade with an alligator clip.

interesting
but I think it will want more amp's then you have in the
machine to give:( I could be wrong though:)

Give it a go you may be the next guru. The polarity may make a difference + or negative to the metal. You may also find the copper in the wire deposites on the blade or vis versa. If you are going to test it purhaps you could set up a control one piece in the normal etch the other in the electro.

Let us know how it turns out.
