Elephant Ivory questions

hi guys,

I had a few questions regarding Elephant Ivory and i'm hoping someone here can answer them for me.


question 1.

if I understand the new ban correctly I can still take Ivory handled knives and gun grips across state lines as long as I don't sell them. correct?

i'm planning a hunting trip later this year and want to make sure I can bring my favorite six shooter and knife along.


question 2.

I have some Ivory blanks that i'd like to use for a build, can I send Ivory blanks to a knife maker that lives out of state?



question 3.

if I wanted to give a friend who lives out of state the above Ivory handled knife for a Birthday present I can still do that right?

It might be worth a call to Fish and Wildlife to see current status. I know that a lot of regs have been overturned by the new admin. And if I remember right these ivory restrictions were regs.

When the mammoth ivory ban went into effect here in Cali I called our Fish and Game to really see what I could and could not do as a knifemaker. They were helpful and when they didn't know they went on up the chain until they found out and got back to me. Answered all my questions.
