Eleven Bent Bees and One Huge Grub

We had friends around for dinner and a fire tonight, so I gave the B11 a go chopping some wood. Awesome knife, very comfortable and chops like a beast!!!

I batonned it though an old piece of log, not sure what it was, but man, it was HARD! Check out the flex...

After I split the log, I discovered a HUGE grub living in it. Awesome...

That grub is............well there are only a few things that freak ol Dave Brown out and worms and grubs be it.

great pics rob. how'd the grub go over with the friends? hope it turned out well i hear they can be pretty chewy.

Always love to see a Busse take a beating and then look at you and laugh.
 
You can cook those grubs up on a hot shingle of timber (water soaked) over the fire... in ALL HONESTY they taste like "peanut butter" when you eat 'em... :)
 
A Whitchetty grub! Koori's reckon they taste great...but I would rather have a pie LOL. Great shots Rob. That flexy B-11 pic is awesome!
 
No i didn't eat it. The thought did cross my mind though. Snwbrdr, I think I would prefer a pie as well. A steak and mushroon one. mmmmmm
