I'm always the last to know! I just saw this knife on Benchmade's site and I was hoping somebody out there had one and could give me their impressions about the design, steel, etc. Thanks!

LOVE the design. Seems more utilitarian a blade shape than my 710. Handle shape is great, and the steel, IMO, is much better than BM's ATS-34. Yeah, i know it is practically the same stuff, but it sharpens differently (easier), and doesn't seem to give up any edge-holding. Heck, with this stuff (154CM), I almost don't even feel the yearning for M2 in this knife.

Bottom line is, I like it even better than the 710.

I consider it a great knife. I much prefer it over the 710 for daily carry because it is just the right size, has a straight edge, and a very strong handle. I personally like the multicolored G-10 and sculpted handle.

Hi:

I prefer the 710 - although its G10 is a bit "slippery" for some reason. Also, I prefer the AFCK to either. That said, it's a nice knife but a bit thin and the colored handle material looks cheap - like fake wood on a car dash.

The 730 rules. I feel bad about selling mine.

I went into our local knife shop to buy a 710 but they were out of stock so I ended up buying a 730 and there are no regrets. I had to reprofile the edge but there are no problems. Good quality, fit and finish. The axis lock is sweeeettt and the 730 is in my opinion one of the best looking BM's out there. I carry mine everyday.
