I used my new ELITE KNIFE SHARPENING SOLUTION from Work Sharp today. I used the Blade Grinding Attachment and while using it I heard a pop, it stopped and smoke came pouring out of it. Is this an issue with this sharpener?

I don’t know if it’s anything to do with that sharpener, but the customer service of Work Sharp is second to none. Just give them a call on Monday and they will take care of you!

It happened to me with brand new corded angle grinder a few years ago. Directly from the box ... cable into power socket ... power switch ON .... white-bluish smoke. I reacted but not fast enough. The smoke escaped before I could reach for a jar. I was so desperate I tried to fill the grinder with cigarette smoke but didn't help.

Did you at least make a wish? I heard you get a wish when the magic smoke escapes.
