This may have already been posted here, but I could not find it. So if this is a "repeat" then I apologize.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Loerchner, winner of the 2013 Jerry Fisk Cutlery Challenge.

Here is my really poor picture of her winning piece, for which I apoloigize in advance - it is actually much more beautiful than my poor photograph, and hopefully we will get to see a pro photo soon.

That really is beautiful. Like many of her pieces I can see Wolfgang's influence but with a distinct flare of her own. Wolfgang's style is so natural it would have been difficult for Elisabeth to develop a style of her own but she has done just that and kept a little of the Loerchner style.

Does anyone know what the inlays are. Enamel maybe?

Yes, the inlays are cloisonne (enamel) The wings are sandblasted and anodized aluminum. The assembly is mounted on a frame. Both knives are folders.
I am sure Liz will respond when she returns home. I have added another photo.
Wolfgang

Congratulation to Elizabeth for this artistic combination, it is beutiful. Ciao Tore

Ps, Congratulation also for the award won!!!

Congratulations Elizabeth! Much deserved and not an easy task given the competitors involved.
I really appreciate the fact that your folders are real and very functional. Well Done Girl!

Congratulations to Elizabeth for wining the first CKCA Jerry Fisk Cutlery Challenge. Her project was extraordinary.
I would like to thank Elizabeth, JR and Robert for their hard work, dedication and professionalism in their participation
in the challenge. They are all three winners, in that they were chosen from quite a few applicants to participate.

Another big congrats Elizabeth. Beautiful knives and a well deserved win.
What a proud dad you must be Wolf.

I want to thank everyone for their kind comments and also the excellent feedback I received at the show.
It was truly an honor to take part in this challenge with J.R. Cook and Robert Kauffman. It was amazing to see the beautiful pieces they both created and how differently we all went ahead with our ideas. The way they each went ahead with their projects taught me so many things, and although it may be cliche, I think we are all winners. I myself could not have chosen one.
The four judges were wonderful and it was excellent to hear their constructive criticisms and for two of them, being completely new to the knife world, hearing how thrilled they were to be at the show and introduced to something so amazing.
I am very grateful to Jerry Fisk, Kevin Jones, Ryan and Mary Hays and everyone else involved for all the hard work they put into this. It wouldn't have been possible without their efforts. Also a special thanks to my Dad. He took me under his wing and had a great deal of patience with me. He has taught me everything I know. I would never be where I am today without the loving support of both my parents.
And of course, the benefactor who remains anonymous. This was an opportunity of a life time and I am not sure I would have gone forth the way I am without his generous donation. I can not send out enough thank yous.
As the project will be going ahead, it will be amazing to see what continues to come out of the knife world. I think things will only get better and better.
I am so grateful to be a part of such an amazing group of people with so many amazing ideas and personalities. It is definitely a driving force.
If you have any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them.

I was an hour late to dinner and the closest open seats ended up being right next to Elizabeth and across from Mr Fisk (a little starstruck on both counts). I have admired both Loerchner's work from afar; thanks for putting up with me and congratulations again!
