Came last night from the web specials.

Sweet slipjoint for sure, fit is awesome and the Elk looks great.

Would love to see one without the hoof print etch, and just matching stag on each side, but this one is pretty nice!!!

That one does look nice. I didn't order one because of the hoof prints but I may change my mind.

It's a nice knife. The back side looks very beautiful. I too would like to see less of the laser etching on knives. With certain exceptions, like custom inscriptions, I think laser etching cheapens the look. It's a relatively easy process and is used too much now in the industry. I like it when craftsmen strive for an elegance in simplicity.

Acid etch on the blade or bolsters and gold etch are something else entirely and these can be very tastefully done.

I am somewhat OK with the hoof print design, I guess it is trying to be different, but the back side is really super. So, yes both sides would be nice left alone, but I can live with it. Especially since I ordered it by looking at the hoof print side only.

Bottom line, I really like the knife and I am glad I got one. By the way, super great pictures.
