This is the Elk and S30V 110 I ordered back in Nov. from the Custom Shop, engraved with the initials of my late father and older brother.

12/12/17 was the 7th anniversary of my brother's passing away, so it was kinda cool that it arrived on the 11th.

Buck did an amazing job, the Elk scales are fantastic and the engraving looks great, despite my poor camera skills. It was very hard to get a good shot of the engraving on that shiny NS bolsters.

very nice Sir. congrats and thanks for sharing with us.

That is a beautiful knife and worthy of carrying those initials. A fitting tribute.

Nice knife.

You did well in the luck of the draw on the elk.

I don't know why they quit stamping the information on the blades (yes, I do.....it's cheaper to slap cheap lettering on them) but it looks like I will never purchase another "Custom" shop knife. No new knives from here on out.

Sort of sad about this devolution of Buck Knives. An era has passed and is gone forever.

I'll buy strictly buildouts with ancient leftover blades from here on out.

S30v is hard to stamp.

Good looking knife. Love the steel and scale combo.

S30V is hard to stamp? Odd. I've never heard that before. They used to stamp it all the time.

At any rate he got himself a fine knife.

The fact that I'm not a player anymore with Buck's new markings is another matter entirely.

Awesome looking knife with some great steel. Use it well and keep it sharp.

I could be wrong on that.

No way!!! I just read that they stamped blades back in the day. Here is an early version that is etched?? Cool as hell. I did not know they used to do that.!

And they quit doing it for the obvious reason.

It looks cheap and cheesy and it doesn't last.

Which is why I'm done buying knives that look like that.

I totally realize this is a matter of personal taste. So be it. Buck has plenty of new Tacty-Kool buyers and they don't need my money.

I'm ok with that.

I'll pick up the occasional build-out with an old blade they found laying around and I'll buy the old ones on e-Bay.

Everybody's happy.

I'll bet that collector value runs a 1000 dollars.
