I got an order a while ago for a knife with a blade style that resembled a different knife. He said he is planning on using it for elk hunts. This is the final result.

This is 1095 with a clay quench and a nice hamon. The handle is black linen micarta with a white liner

Aside from the general shape of the blade, it does not look much like the original knife. I hope he likes it.

I still have to make the sheath. This one is getting a leather one.

I really like this one myself, that's a very function blade for cutting and easy to resharpen :)

It is out of my hands, and in the loving arms of the United States Postal System. You should have it in 2-3 days.

Thanks, it was a fun project.

Matt was very easy to work with. I am a guide and field dress several animals a season ,last year 2 moose only one deer most years 4 or 5 deer. This knife looks capable of doing anything I will ever need to do with it. I will try to remember and post some "field use" Photos this fall. This will be a great Moose, Elk sized game knife. I use a smaller knife on whitetails. Thanks again Matt. John.

I received the Elk Hunter today WOW! The knife exceeds my expectations. Haveing this knife on your belt is like haveing a burly iron fisted best friend have your back. Plus it is great to look at. Thanks Matt Great Job ! John.
