So which knives do I bring? The 11 is coming with for sure. I plan on doing a comparison of it vs my Cabela's Buck Vanguard in the area of field dressing. Last weekend I brought the 2 with in one of MWTIC's tasty sheaths for scouting. Didn't need to use it for anything but it's weight was comforting...sigh...

So do I bring the 2, or the 9 with for my main carry for 10 days of elk/deer hunting? I'll be carrying a 25lb pack, 7lb rifle, shooting sticks, and whichever primary knife makes most sense. I know bring both, alternate them...let them both see action...

Opinions?

not a hunter here so no opinions... just a reminder not to forget a camera.

LOL, funny you should bring up cameras. When we went scouting no one brought a camera. all we had was the camera on my cell phone. Gotta download all the pics before we head out.

I'm gonna say the BK9. Why ? Well, bear in mind that I have a choil & jimping on my BK9, so thats what i am thinking of, when i say this. The BK9 can clear a path better than the BK2 because it is more machete-ish & has a much longer reach. They can certainly both chop, but i think the 9 is better at chopping. Because of the longer reach, you can also skin with it while keeping your hand farther away from the meat meanining you can reach in farther without sliding your hand against the meat/skin & hopefully stay cleaner while doing the job. That may not be a concern for you though, IDK ? Both are certainly capable of the job though. I would feel MUCH more confident going through bone or cracking bone with the BK2 though just because of the 1/4" thickness of it. Take pics & post em up of your harvest & what you chose to use please.

It's a 2-10 day hunt depending on when we fill our tags or run out of beer :D Pics for sure. I just wanna get out there and smell the air, listen to the rustle of the aspens and hear the bugle of the elk...and do a little harvesting if it works out that way.
