Hi Ellie,

Will you guys be restocking old style supplies? In particular, handles and fasteners for old style 3.5?

I've sent you emails which went unanswered and I see you are quite active here so maybe I can catch you here and get an answer I'm sure more people than I would like to know.

I want to order a few items for an older knife and I would love to know if I should just buy another rather than try and get supplies you guys may never restock.

I should add this one to the FAQ actually.

We will get more old spec materials as it seems necessary to do so. If we get a lot of requests for certain handles or sheaths we will get more ordered.

There are some GSO3.5 materials available now. The leftover items from the last production runs.

I see there are some canvas micarta left. No fasteners.

I would love a set of black linen handles, I would take a set of black G10 as well if it would help. I would also need a couple sets of fasteners, maybe just one set in black if that made it easier. Maybe the new ones would fit? I could buy those if that is the case.

Maybe pay extra?
 
Hmmmm. If a set of red linen 4.1 scales and three black fasteners were available...
 
Heck, I'm still looking for a sheath for my 4.1, but since everyone is talking scales, I'd go for a set of black G-10 scales.

Should we start a thread for Survivors to post their extra supplies (sheaths, scales, fasteners, danglers, etc.) for trade/sale, too? Or would Survive! prefer we don't do that?

I'm just thinking there seems to be a lot of "extra scales" floating out there.

I was hoping to get enough interest generated in the thread that Ellie would be convinced to restock at least those items we showed direct interest in.
 
Ya know... I was thinking. This thread and another thread gave me an idea. S!K offer different profiles for different hand sizes.

So you have to keep the width of the handle the same where it is retained by the sheath, but the last 2/3 of the handle could be changed without affecting the fit of the sheath. You could have the standard handles that already come on the knofe and the option to buy XL handles that have less pinch in the tail. I am thinking guys like J man or people who state they want liners under their scales could buy these handles. S!K could make it an option to swap to XLs when you order. To keep it simple, at first limit it to the 3 most popular scales (brobably black, green and camo canvas).

I'm going to say something that I have to say to Guy pretty regularly. That sounds like an inventory nightmare.

With that being said, it could be a good option as part of the super customization series of the future.
