Quick Iphone pics. Got this one almost done. Just need a customer to decide leather/kydex

by me or someone better (Paul Long etc)

This is my Persian model in Elmax, heat treat by Bos. at 60.5 Rc.

11" overall with a 5 7/8" blade

Thickness is .152 or so full flat grind and handrubbed out to 1500.

Handle material is .088 orange G10 and .250 OD green camo G10.

SS tubing and a mosaic pin sets it off. This bad boy is .007 at the thickest on the edge before sharpening so it will cut like a laser!

On to the pics

Thoughts? Dan

Thoughts are that is dang sexy. Elmax seems to take a nice polish. Dig the orange liners. Nice work!!!

That Elmax is amazing. I made a kitchen knife out of it as an experiment and a friend stole it and won't give it back. I guess it's very, very good.

Wow! Great work on that one. We like the same stuff my friend:thumbup: I've been finishing up a bunch of blades in Elmax the past couple weeks. Love it.

Have you guys done any cutting tests with the Elmax? I'm curious to see if you like it better than AEB-L or some of the stainless steels coming out from Crucible like... Let's see, is it 154CM that is also popular now?
Like I said, I've only made one blade out of it and it's gone.

According to the CATRA cutting tests, only M390 by Bohler beat it. I love AEB-L in the kitchen. The Bohler steels seem to not only be a great price but very easy to finish. Dan
