I have been looking into the ZT 0561 and I am most likely going to order one in a day or two depending on a few things. My main concern about the knife is the steel, for example I am going to be on a boat and around the water for a week coming up soon. And how will the Elmax steel do around the salt water and what will happen if some gets onto the knife? That is my main question but also how will the bearing do around the salt water?

Keep it dry and you'll be fine. As for the pivot, compressed air is your friend.
Well I know if I bring it on this up coming trip there is no way I am going to be able to keep it dry so would a little salt water on the blade affect it right away or if I wiped it off on my pants a few minutes later would it be fine?

Elmax is probably the most stain resistant high performance steel out there. The only way Ive gotten my Elmax knives to rust is by leaving fruit juice on them. Its a really, really rust resistant steel and is about as stainless as you can get while still being very tough and having good edge holding.

Yes, it'll be fine. No stainless steel will rust immediately from salt water. Just don't put it away wet any you'll be good.
