Elusive Benchmade...

Saturday the mailman delivered to me a BM 14205, and it was the most elusive BM- it was actually sharp! This is the first BM that I didn't have to reprofile out of the box. I got it because I own the 14200, and I wanted a lighter weight version for slacks/ shorts carry. Great knife, pleased so far, now all I have to do is tweak the pivot setting a little so it loosens up a little for quick opening and closing.;)

Congrats on a great knife! I got one a few weeks ago. I think it's one of the best Benchmades going. They don't get as much attention as the more popular models, but they should. I found mine to be one of the all-around best finished and fitted Benchmades I own.

I also have a weakness for the Snody/Benchmade designs.

You and me both, CM. I see the black/serrated ones come up for sale every once in a while, but the satin/PE seems to rarely venture out of captivity.

Bummer.;) I've got a 426--only makes me want the 425 even more.

I'm wondering if I should have Demko build me a wharncliffe folding kerambit with a similar blade style and a wave thumbplate?

you know what else too charlie mike, this is one of my grail knives and there was one of these for sale at bladehq and i was praying nobody would notice it until my funds would come through, the bank delayed the payement to my credit card and now i see its gone :(

i was really close too, it was a good price :(

I meant that to be tongue in cheek- out of the last 3 BM products I've ordered, all three needed to be reprofiled. The 14205 only needed to be introduced to the sharpmaker for 20 swipes to slice curlicues out of printer paper. All in all, I'm pleased with it.;)
