Thanks to all of those who gave me advice in my other thread and swayed me away from the BK7 and to the BK9. I was concerned that the 9 would be too big, but it is exactly what I needed. It seems like a great knife, but I am not a fan of the new coating. Not sure what I am going to do, but I believe I will strip it this weekend and see where I end up. The BK2 needs refinishing too so it looks like I will make a party of it.

Grab you BK9 firmly by the handle and now walk around the house and start yelling "WE WILL, WE WILL ROCK YOU, WE WILL, WE WILL ROCK YOU"!!!!!!!!

Cool knife, congratulations.

I find that the best way to remove the finish is to chop everything and wear it off that way.

You can't not have a BK9.

Congrats on your new addition. I recently added a 9 to my family.

My son's 9 has that new finish on it too. I wasn't a fan until he used it. It wears better than the old finish that I have on my knife. It looks like crap though IMO. My two other son's have the BK2's. They are all work horses though so I don't think any of us really care what they look like. All I know is that the 9 is a great knife that has been able to handle everything we have thrown at it.

I bought a little Piggyback for $10 to throw in the small pocket on the sheath. Haven't found a task out in the woods I couldn'g get done with that combo.

An that thing is well AMAZING seeing it side by side the 2 Man It's nice!! Thanks for the pic

 Congrats on the new steel. EVERYONE needs at least 1 BK9 ! :D I am diggin the new finish myself. Saves me a lot of work. :D Plus i don't have to degrade myself & become a stripper !!! :D

That 9 looks just right near the 2, and 14.
I wasn't sure if I was going to buy the 9, or 10 next but the the 9 looks like it would compliment my 2 and 14 perfectly.
Good choice.

That's a fine looking family photo there. I love pairing my 9 with either my 14 or 16. That'll take you to the end of the wood & back.
