Em/BM 970 Ques?

Gang--- Has anyone had the handle screw inserts add to their 970's by Benchmade? I heard they offer this service. Danks.

i have no idea what you are talking about, but i tried to have a backspacer replaced on a 970. neither benchmade nor eki had the part.

Yes. I had an early 970SBT and Benchmade put inserts into the G-10 scales while replacing the Nylotron washers with Phosphor Bronze. They didn't touch the serrations but did a great job sharpening the cutting edge while up there.

For the record Mori, the early versions of the Emerson/Benchmade had the screws go directly into the opposing G-10 scale instead of the now standard inserts.

Just to make sure if they still do this op I'd call 'em at 800-800-7427 to check.

Thanks 53. I'm going to get that done. My 970 already has the infamous Krein regrind.
BTW, I have a spare rear spacer for the 970.
