Well Dave, I'm pleased to be the first to post in your thread that I would be pleased to receive that information from anyone here who would care to share it, and I also would be pleased to provide my information to the "regulars" that post here that I have come to electronically respect and admire. What got me started posting here, after sitting on the sidelines for a considerable period of time, was the admiration of the "Buck Brotherhood" that I observed among everyone, and I wanted to share that. The integrity of "Buck collectors" never ceases to amaze me. More than one individual whom I have never formally met has mailed me knifes that I had "purchased" before my payment had ever been received by them. That kind of trust in others is very special. Incidentally, I'm assuming that the BCCI membership list is also not available; is that correct? I also belong to the Browning Collectors' Association (BCA), and that organization lists names and states of newly joining members in every newsletter for the whole world to see. Nevertheless, I can still understand that many individuals might wish to remain anonymous for whatever reason and that's fine. My only reason for bringing the subject up was that I thought it would be great as one was traveling, for example, to know whether they were fellow buck nuts in town/cities that one was passing throught so those electronic friendships could be carried one step further. I guess at this point its sort of akin to how far one is willing to go on a first date.

When someone is asking me for something and giving me a lot of flattery and respect and admiration at the same time.......warning bells start to go off.

Course.....I don't want to say too much or I'll be called paranoid and confused.

I can promise any member here, that if I have your private information because you gave it to me as part of a buy/sell/trade or otherwise, I would not pass it out to someone else.

I do not mean to be overly suspicious, but we have a relatively new faceless/nameless individual that seems to intent on getting personal information about people who have knife collections.

I may be wrong, and I hope I am, but I strongly urge folks to not pass along others private information to unknowns.

wow roc! it is if i get any flattery (ad nasum) that i may not deserve THEN i worry !!!
belive me if i deserve it- i love to get it!!!
as to bells... they are like the voices,
in'n ya pays to much attention to them ya misses out on enjoying life a lot!!!
so i makes it a spechalllle issue to ask you for yours !!
kinda a you show me yours i show you mine!!! but stay dressed ...
some things have been known to frighten old ladys and young girls!!!

imformation age? i love that i can BS and feel close to like minded folks that i may never get to see... and i can see that some times we need to not let to much of our selves out hang out here on the inter net...
but the risk is that you may loose out on a lot of good times & good friends ...

Dave, you're a good guy and well-known here and very funny.

You are a socializer and you love to meet a lot of people and you tend to be open and trusting of people......that's good in many ways.

Just don't throw caution to the wind.

Remember that I heard these alarm bells (and you ignored me) in the incident with the person that used the name Maverick and it seems I was correct (according to your own experience in that matter).

I hope Tin Sue realizes that this is nothing personal, just normal internet caution.

And maybe Tin Sue needs to hear the story of Maverick.

A good anvil has got to be worth at least as much as a used post hole digger, maybe as much as the front seat out of a 1969 Chevy Bellaire. Are you sure you are in the right forum?

Well now, Buck does use an anvil in their logo! :D

On the other note, any members that want to contact other members, already can using the PM system, Email or just post here. If someone is gonna travel and wants to meet other members, just post here saying "Hey I'm gonna be at *****, on this date, anyone near wanna talk knives and overdose on caffeine?"

Not that complicated. But to compile a members list with street address' is fine and dandy in theory, and people can vouch for others to some degree, but once that list is sent to one person, it is effectively "loose" then to be passed to anyone else, known or unknown, good, bad or ugly.

Once it's out there, a list like that is more trouble than it's worth.

Decaffe is really gathering up all this info so he can put me in his will.

Where there is a will,,,,put me in it.:D

Hi ya Dave and everyone else, I been out of circulation a while with some pc glitch thing.

Dave, you're a good guy and well-known here and very funny..
you got to be kidding !
i am a serrours as the guy what drove the black car upside down in MIB...!!!

Remember.. alarm bells ..with Mav
yea, i needed a told you so there.. but that is not over!..
> Haebbie has already checked and he CAN come over and Will if we get enught!...
i will be lanching a drive to do so in a week soon as i get some details worked out...stay tuned!

Well now, Buck does use an anvil :D

yep kinda of what i talked with Tin about ... and is what gave him the idear..And it was me that said he should post it as i thought it a good idear!
seems it is kinda sorta like there are many ways to skin a cat,
which ya use depends on why you are skining that cat...
meat to eat or fur for ear muffs.. makes a big diffreance to some!

.. a members list... is fine.. in theory,..but.. it is effectively "loose" ... good, bad or ugly....Once it's out there...

there are so many list there and the ones here that do care to ask i feel are not the risk ya will find in many other places! like for real - ebay is the bigest as you have to send a street address first and that is the 2ed easyest place to get skined ...cregs list being the easest tho it is not the bigest
and again note on ebay what happened to JB...
yep so far the only one i know of that has not gotten fair here is me and mav and i have hope for that still... any excuse is better then none...
hope trust love and god- with out 'em ya got nothing!
now any buck junky near DALLAS texas ,,,
if ya wants to hook up email me via forum !
singed
DECAFF DAVE

Dave and Goose... please feel free to include me in your will's.....

As someone said in the other thread, putting some kind of location in your profile would help a great deal. For instance, I had no idea I drive by brother Dave's place several times a year until he listed a real location! If anyone needs to contact me, send me an email through this forum and we'll go from there.

Well Messy...

My "accumulation" of Buck knives is small and haphazard at best.
If I was gonna be able to put myself on anyone's will, in addition to Dave's, it would be HonestTom and EEE's.

Their pics are like knife porn to me.
