Do I need a membership to email a member? I sent an email to someone about regrinding a knife and once I hit the send button, I didn't receive any errors, it just kept taking me back to the original forum I was in with no confirmation that the email was sent. It was different than when I try to PM someone and I get an error saying I have to give the site money?

I need to know whether or not I need to give a bunch of my money to this site in order to email a user.

PM requires a paid membership. Email does not. Click on the name, click on email. Send a message. You won't get a confirmation, you won't see the recipient's email address, you won't even save the email you sent. If the recipient contacts you, you will then learn his email address.

Some people don't activate their email for communication. You didn't. Here's how to:

Go to Settings (upper right).
Go to My Settings > My Account > General Settings (left side of the page).
Go to Messaging & Notification > Receive Email:

Thread revival - i've emailed a member a couple times, and he has apparently emailed me as well... I haven't received anything in my inbox. I did ask him a question via a thread, and he said he emailed me.... nothing received. Can anyone help with this?

Thanks!

Check your spam folder to make sure it's not ending up there.

Thanks for the reply! So yes I did originally check my spam folder on my email server as well as my client... nothing there.

Also it looks like I am able to receive emails from other users per my settings.... can you as a mod see if I have received/sent anything successfully?

No I can't see anything to do with emails. I will send you an email, see if it goes through.

Hey rycen I got it just now - at least we know it works now. I will hit up the member again via that thread and see if he can send me an email that way. Perhaps there was a mistake when he sent it.... not sure! Thanks!
