Emails from"plumberdv"

Can some contact Dave's son and alert him to the fact Dave's email address is being used to send spam. I have gotten 3-4 spam emails from the address. Thanks.
 
I have no contact for the son. I wonder if the son monitors Dave's old email?

i received one email from Dave within the last 24hrs. My wife was contacted by a friend today who said that she received two bogus emails from my wife and warned her of a possible virus.

I will ill take the usual steps with my email.
 
Unfortunately I received one also from his AOL account. It has been hacked, I hope no real damage can be done. A few of my local friends had the same problem. They were able to get rid of it by contacting their IP and removing that particular e-mail account. It was more of an annoyance than anything, nothing real bad occurred from it.

Did you open the bogus email? I am sorry that you are having problems.

Critical area scan with capable protection software, which has been installed for over one year, revealed no threats to PC. Complete scan for threats is underway and will take all day. Update to complete scan: no threats found.

I changed my passwords from stem to stern to be cautious.

I often get emails from someone I know but if you look most of the time it's not their address even though their name is being used. What typically happens is someone hacks their address book and sends out the junk. I just delete it and go on.

There was a link, in the email. Did you open that link? I would like to find this person and let the Police talk with him. I opened it by mistake on my smart phone but saw the link and deleted it real fast.
 
Folks, I am just like you guys, but Plumbers address could have come from any of us an gone out to anyone he or someone else had ever emailed. I reported to my security provider but it has gotten out so far an wide I doubt anything can be done. Lesson learned don't open any PlummerDave current emails, lets let him rest in peace. I didn't open it and am still going fine and scan of computer shows ok. Sorry Skyhorse, my hunting buddy in Denver even got one saying it was from Plumber to me to my Buddy.

BE AWARE, CHECK on weird, odd or not normal future emails for PlumberDaves name and don't open them. Warn kids and wives.

Got another. What is strange is that it is to a different e-mail account than the one Dave or Bladeforums has. I had to "block and delete sender" option.
 
I opened it by accident for a second and the next time I turned on the laptop no screen. I wonder what part of the country it came from? Coincidence? I have no idea.
 
It's a really crappy thing for someone to do, considering Dave is no longer with us :mad:
 
I think we need to start using some of the "surplus" munitions on these folks. There has to be consequences and when it come to computer crimes there doesn't seem to be enough.
