Hi All,
Don't let the 7.25"s OL of this little lean and mean chopping machine fool you!

It'll do some cutting and chopping.

In the chopping department: 2" of weeeellll seasoned pine tree (Christmas '98 near top) in about three minutes with two finger and thumb hold.

In the cutting department: A big pork roast, and a stack of cardboard and never needed a touch up on the edge!
Just so ya know.

Dan, what are the specs for that knife? I don't recall seeing it on the HI web site. I am toying with the idea of getting a small (12" or less) khuk as a camping knife and I am very curious about their performance.

I have only one 9". I have 3 12" Sirupatis and 2 12" AK's. I believe that is about the right ratio ( 1-9" to 5-12"ers ).

7.25" ? Yes! It must be the current version of HI Kagas Katne; about 5/32" thick --- the old version is about 6" OAL and 2/16" thick --- Most of the old version are having partial tang but some of the new version are having full tang ie. with buttcap and buttkeeper as well --- I have 3 units of the old version for my 3 kids and 2 units of the new version for me & wife! Getting few couples more for my office colleages ... they just fancy these cute little crooked concealed weapon!

:
The blade is bigger than the average sized pocket knife.
I wouldn't mind haveing one with a longer handle just for giggles and kicks.

Any more of the little guys at H.I.?

These would be cute. Perhaps I can arm stuffed animals with them.

Dan keep feeding it wheaties and bear. It will grow up big and strong like the Hanuman khukuri.

OK, you asked for it: Weight about 2oz. Over all length is 7.25" Blade length is 4.252" Blade thickness at bolster is .253" at mid point is .221 at tip before edge grind is .156. width at belly is .906" width at neck of recurve is .6875" point drop measured from spine flat is 1.128" Edge hardness about Rc60.

While this blade was never made with the intent that it would be used, I think that this sized blade with it's beautiful forward curve would be really useful if it had a 4- 4.5" handle on it. This is a full stick tang knife so it is strong enough.
