As I just posted, I am having a custom knife made. I am familiar with things like timascus, damascus laminate, co mai, etc.

I have, however come across a very exotic material called Emerald Kinnite. Reading about this was like deciphering a language lol. It sounds and definitely looks very exotic and unusual. So this prompts me to search for even more mysterious options. Would someone care to point me in the direction of learning about such very unusual, rare, exotic and striking materials for knives/blades? Whether rare mineral composite, synthetic material, metal alloy, etc, can anyone suggest their own rare finds?

Agreed on musk ox horn, great material!

It's not flashy, but it has become hard to find...a product that used to be sold by Jephco called "warwood." It was a composite made from corn used inside MRAP and other vehicle armor. Literally bomb-proof. Used to be able to find it in Green, Brown, Maroon and black. When polished it looked almost like paper micarta, but different.

Mammoth molar is some pretty crazy stuff! Along with mammoth ivory.
One thing I love is old exotic micarta‘s etc! One of my favorites is vintage emerald green paper micarta! I was lucky enough to score a piece fairly recently (hoping to get more sometime), haven’t used it yet, just saving it for something really special!
