Any one know if the Ganza Regulator over runs in tonights ganza are Sr101, like the originals?

Also are they same thickness?

Mono tempered or differentially treated?

Inquiring minds want to know!

The appear to have more belly and a bit shorter blade as well.

Bump again for an answer. Seems to have fallen off the top page.

Any Busse/Scrapyard insiders know the answer to this question?

Boss?

Amy?

Big Dogs from the yard (Dan?).

Help a brother out......

I'm wondering all the same!! Glad you started asking. I'm thinking for the price I may have to get one of each regardless!!

.

What is the word engraved on them?

.

My guess is at that price point they are SR-77.

Hopefully they are Sr101, just because I want to try that steel!

I don't think there is much price difference in the two steels that have been offered.

I think the differential heat treat would make a bigger difference in the price.

I think that like the regular Mil Overrun Reg's these will be through hardened SR101.

Well, there's a big difference to me. I much prefer SR101 for edge retention. It's just awesome.

If they're not SR-77 this would be my other guess.

The only regs (as far as I am aware as simply a consumer) that were diff hardened were the TT regs, and it's my understanding that the final Mil Overruns were through hardened to keep the price point down.

Either way those regs look great and I'm hoping to score one (or that someone will have an extra for me if I don't). They look like wonderful camp "beater" knives, probably throw one in each of my bail out bags (my wife calls them my "crazy bags" lol).

Its why I really want to know!

I have been itching to try some Sr101, and have almost grabbed a regulator in the past.

These appear to have more belly and a more useable blade for general camp use (looks taller from edge to spine, or at least less pointy).

Love the Diff HT on the proto Reg. Would hope its the same on these Mil-overuns. Remember, the protos were only~110-120 on the BladeGanzaa when they were available.:thumbup:Hamon evidence

These are SR-101 and are through hardened. . . Regular price would be much higher on these but since there are so few of them, Dan is blowing them out at $79.95!!!!!!!

I wouldn't expect these to last very long. . . .

Let's Drink!!!!
