I know a few people might have dial up or don't watch videos, so I decided to post up a few pictures of the emergency shelter I built the other day. Total build time was about 15 min. The area I built it in was resource rich. That made building this very easy.
This is a view from the back. I used Cottonwood bark for the rear of the shelter. The downed tree was pretty big and made a good overhang.
This angle shows the angle of the bark and the size of the log. On the right side of the fire you can see the reflector. It was made of downed logs.
This shows how you can use a space blanket to reflect heat and keep you off the ground.
No tools or cordage were used to build this. It is a down and dirty shelter.
