The Comrade just showed up today, and WOW! I love this knife!
Solid lock engagement, smooth action, and a great blade shape.
Handle ergonomics are superb.
Feels like it will be able to handle any reasonable tasks I can find for it.
Buy one while you can still find them(I got the last black blade/plain edge one at the store I deal with).

Glad you like it Stabman. I have the same blk/plain setup. It's a great folder, one of the best around.

I have decided not to use mine, it'll be a collector someday i'm sure :)

The frame-lock side measures out at 0.135", so I'm really pleased(I like a thicker lock:)).
0.125" is okay, but 0.135" is just that much better.

The 12s are fantatstic, by far and away the best production knife EKI have ever made.

I carry one every day and even have a spare one in the safe :p

Haze> Only ONE in the safe!! :O
;)

One for now :p

I think this thread need some pics too :D:thumbup:

Nice, this has strengthened my plan to bug my dad to get me this for X-mas... :p

After the intensive use and abuse my Commie needs to be replaced :(

Id get one while there still about. The HD line have been scrapped so new ones will become rare and pricy in the future.

Is the price of titanium the reason the line was scrapped?
Too bad, because this is one of the nicest frame-locks I've encountered.

I think it was more to do with low sale numbers.
The price of Ti may have had something to do with it but ........

Its been on the cards for a while it seems, still not good news though.
I too feel its one of the best frame locks available.

Wouldn't a price reduction, within reason, on the frame-locks sell More knives??

I would love to see a titanium frame-locked CQC-8!

After having a commander and the comrade, i am a bigger fan of the titanium framelock. Besides being stronger, it is a lot easier on your pockets. The price is worth it if you figure in a new pair of jeans or so (as if you guys need any help rationalizing new knives).
