i am going to buy a couple of emersons in the next week or 2 - i already have a '00 commander PE, a BM 975 SBT(ya i know not REALLY an emerson, but pretty close imho), and am gonna get a CQC7 waved, but what should i get to complement the other 3?? have been thinking about the spec war but what about the SOFCK (is it still available??) and the raven/mach1/etc?? dont really like the SARK's though. which 1 would ya get/why????

I recently picked up a SOCFK and I love it. They can be had on the secondary market if you look. I also believe www.tacticaledge.com might be getting new shipments in. Its worth checking out anyhow.

The blades on SOCFKs and Specwars are a little different, but if you want the wave you have to go with the SOCFK.

If you like the Commander you might want a mini. I think it would be cool to have a regular and mini with the same blade and handle config. Even cooler would be matched numbers but that would be hard to do.

Mach 1 is cool and a definately useful utility shape. However, it would be lower on my list of wanted emersons than the others.

I'd say either:

Mini-C - great sized folder. Awesome for support side carry.

or

PSARK - Wicked blade

Then there is always a Super Commander - Huge Commander with Third Generation styling.
 
thanks guys - some good suggestions - love the super commander BUT the price is too high for me, WHY so high?????

Take another serious look at the PSARK. Its a great utility blade which (for the most part) doesn't scare off the sheeple. On the other side of the coin, its a wicked defensive blade. To top it off, its 'waved'! When you draw it out and get those wide-eye looks, you can say,"its a designed Search And Rescue Knife"

wish you posted this a week ago, i just got rid of a green handled socfk, plain edge. i could of dumped id cheap.
i reciently got a mini-commander and this is one of the best. it fits great in the palm.
 
well shoot, thats my luck lol! i think extreme outfitters (?) has them , $140, might order one tomorrow OR a PSARK, got to looking at them , and they are pretty darned neat - decisions......

But as others have mentioned, don't overlook the Mach 1. Although it doesn't have the wave (I wish it did though :() it is one heck of a cool knife. I just traded for one from another forumite and I am very pleased with it. Great blade geometry and a super ergonomic handle.

well, after a lot of thought i ordered a SOCFK w/green handles/black tanto blade this am from extreme, will try and post a pic when i get it thu or fri.........

thanks for all the good suggestions, plan to get a PSARK next, they do grow on ya....

Excellent Choice. I love the SOCFK's.

But Ray says the PSARK is hard to beat. The PSARK is my next production purchase.
